I did this animation tutorial since it’s a request from .
But surely, i know many of you wanted to know how to make an animation GIF using Photoshop CS3. It’s my first tutorial though so I’m sorry if there’s anything that you may not understand.
Introduction :
To animate, we need pictures that shows a character’s movement. In this case we called it as Frame-to-Frame/ Frame-by-frame animation.
For example, walking characters are to be drawn one by one frame in order for them to perform one animation. So in this tutorial, I’m going to show you guys how do i make my Malaysia’s OC Fukkireta.
Step 1 : The Animation
Firstly, drag all pictures that are needed for the animation into the program just like what i did in step 1 above. Make a new page (Ctrl+N) of the same size of your picture then drag all the pictures in the new page created
Do make sure all the pictures of your character’s movements are in the same size before making the animation. Open the window for animation.
Step 2 : Duplicate the layer
Right after the window for animation is opened, you would be able to see a frame of your pictures earlier in the window.
Duplicate the frame in the same amount of layers you did for the animation. As for my OC case, I made 6 pictures of it. This means I duplicate 6 frames for 6 layers. [Look at step 2 above]
Step 3 : Hiding the layer
As you can see, each of frames has the same multiple pictures but with different layers. So there are layers that needed to be hidden in each frame.
To hide it, click on frame 1 and then look at the Layer’s Window. Hide all the layers except for layer 1. [Look at step 3(1)]
If you’re in frame 2, the layer that you only need to show is layer 2 [look at step 3(1)] and things goes the same way for the next layer. Repeat step 3 to the last frame.
Step 4 : Speed of the animation
Now you have hid the layers that are not needed in each frame. To change the speed [look at step 4(1)], click on the timing just below the frame to customize it until you get the suitable speed for your animation. (Speed for this Fukkireta GIF is 0.13 sec with 2 frames at the speed of 0.1 sec)
Don’t forget to always review your animation to check for any mistakes.
Step 5 : Save your work!
Go to file and click on ‘Save for web & Devices(Alt+Shift+Ctrl+S)
It is one simple animation but well done! By the way, what's the speed of the animation for this one? And also, did you intentionally made the light on the character's eyes moving?owo
hahahaha
